He was born on 19th January 1942. When he was a school boy, he won a drawing talent competition and came under the patronage of Piroska Szántó, who attended the colony of artists in Szentendre together with a small selected group. This experience had a deep influence on him. After he had finished grammar school, he went on to study visual arts. His masters were Lajos Szentmihályi a painter, József Loósz a sculptor and József Mezei a graphic artist. Later he studied biology and botany and he also did botany research work. From 1979 he took part in the botany findings of the Duna Ipoly National Park a landscape-protection area. Before Hungary’s joining the EU, he participated in the state assessment of botany of the country, the so-called IBOA programme. Parallel to all this, his visual arts career intermittently continued. Since the 1990s he has been present in the domestic and foreign galleries. He is a member of the Hungarian Universal Association of Fine Arts.
